Well testing is usually considered to mean the flow testing of a well to determinate its producibility. This paper review some wireline measurements which are applied in the somewhat larger context of predicting and managing the performance of oil and gas reservoir : nuclear spectroscopy, electromagnetic propagation, production logging, and the wireline formation tester. The emphasis is on underlying principles.
