This document describes the preferred resource mix over the next 20 years which meets reliability of service, reduced cost of operation, fuel source diversity, electric grid flexibility and lowering of environmental (carbon) footprint, which are among the objectives expounded in Jamaica’s National Energy Policy 2009-20301. This Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), which is the electricity investment roadmap for Jamaica over the period 2018 – 2037 provides information concerning the process followed in developing and analyzing the preferred electricity resource mix and how this electricity resource mix meets the objectives stated. As new information and technologies become available, results will be analyzed relative to the resource mix and infrastructure investments required. Conclusions and next steps are also provided.
