The following pages contain a list of disasters which occurred during the year 1987. The list is not comprehensive and, for the most part, is confined to disasters with reported losses of at least 10 dead or property damage in excess of US million. However, in some cases when the value of the damage was not reported, but appeared to be significant, or when criteria above were not met but UNDRO felt that the damage caused had a severe impact on the economy of the country, such an event was also included.
