The project analyses the feasibility of a landfill gas to energy project (LFGTE) at the mangrove pond landfill, Barbados. The mangrove pond landfill is the sole depository of municipal solid waste on the island and a energy project at the landfill will provide a source of revenue and reduction of the environmental risk posed by the landfill. It is expected that other such developments can be made in the Caribbean region based on the methods and results used in this study.
