This study deals with the effects of alternative approaches to development policy. It is concerned with the relations between development strategy and the configuration of output and demand over time. The main objetive is to determine the related levels of welfare, employment and sectoral trade. The analysis is applied to Mexico, a less-developed, mixed, open economy with important oil reserves.
