The Ecuadorian energy matrix is highly dependent on the petroleum products. Despide the fact, to be petroleum producer in the last years the imports of liquefied petroleum gas, and diesel oil satisfy requirements. On the other hand, the quality of the refining products used in the Ecuadorian energy market has slowly deteriorated due to great pressure in the internal demand, the stop of investments in the national refining industry, and the more stric environmental requirements.
