Considering the important effort that has been done by the European Commision through the Thermie Programme about clean coal technology, it is mentioned the more relevant projects which give answer to the priority lines of development. The last guide liness are also included. After the attention is focused to the main consolidated technologies and in their adecuated use and improvements. There are: fluidised bed combustion both, atmospheric circulation, and pressurised technology, continuing with integrated gasification with combined cycle. It is taken into account the European Union experience, mainly about the projects sited in Spain.
