This Safety Requirements publication establishes requirements for all the important areas of safety in all stages of the lifetime of a nuclear fuel cycle facility, including design and operation and all activities performed to achieve the purpose for which the facility was constructed. These activities include maintenance, in-service inspections and other associated activities, as well as the processing of radioactive material from its introduction to the facility to its exit from the facility.
