This Gender Mainstreaming Manual is a tool to support the implementation of the Policy and the work of gender focal points. We look forward to seeing the document in use as we develop our gender equality machinery and continue to make advancements towards reducing the disparities where they exist, and adding to the body of knowledge drawn from the lessons learnt. This Gender Mainstreaming Manual for the public sector is therefore a welcome tool towards achieving our mandate as we continue to break the barriers of traditional ideas and cultural stereotypes and practices of women and men while ensuring that our programmes are sensitive to
the needs of all.
