The following thesis assesses the feasibility of a proposed natural gas direct reduction steel processing plant in Peru. The study starts with an overview of the steel industry and the natural gas industry in the worldwide, and the Peru's case more detailed is analyzed. The current situation of the technologies for steelmarking and the current situation of imported materials used in the Peru's steel industry are also described. A description of te natural gas based direct reduction tecgnology, required resouces, and environmental impact is then provided. Locations for the plant construction are presented.
